D’banj is currently causing a buzz amongst his fans and some Nigerians
on social media and here is why. During a recent MTV Base media hangout, the
Kokomaster made a shocking statement while speaking to journalists on the music
industry in Nigeria.
According to D’banj, professional record labels in Nigeria died after
his former group, Mo’Hits parted ways a few years ago. He stated:
“There is no point fooling one another; record labels in Nigeria died
after Mo’Hits. I am saying the truth; there is no record label again.” He added
that artistes nowadays buy laptops, produce a song and manage to get a rich
uncle to pay for the video and then calls himself a record label owner.
“A record label must have distribution channels in place,” he stated.
His statement has caused his fans to react, questioning if he is
throwing shade at former partner Don Jazzy who put together his new record
label, Mavin after Mo’Hits collapsed.
See fans' reaction to his statements below....
Not too sure if he was throwing shades, or just making a harmless statement though.... Well.....
