Kanye West is sued after telling fans his new album would only be available on Jay Z's Tidal streaming service

Con artist? A class action lawsuit has been filed against Kanye West after he said The Life Of Pablo would only be available on Tidal
It was the announcement that got his fans pulling out their credit cards.
But now Kanye West is being sued for allegedly tricking fans into signing up for his friend Jay Z's Tidal streaming service by saying his latest album would only be available there.
In fact The Life Of Pablo was soon also available on iTunes, rival streaming service Spotify, Google Play and even on his own personal website.

Obliging sidekick: Kanye certainly did all he could to help his mentor's latest business

Back in February the rapper tweeted out: 'My album will never never never be on Apple. And it will never be for sale... You can only get it on Tidal.' See it below...
Twit: He made the eyebrow-raising announcement on Twitter just two months ago

According to TMZ, the class action lawsuit filed by fan Justin Baker-Rhett claims this announcement caused subscriptions to go through the roof, in effect saving the flopping service.

Not only is Kanye named in the lawsuit, but so is self-styled media mogul Jay Z's company Carter Enterprises and Tidal itself.
The plaintiff is also alleging two million other fans of the Stronger star were gullible enough to buy subscriptions based on the entertainer's tweet.
